New Release: Foundations—New Testament for Teen Girls + Meet Kandi Gallaty

If you are familiar with Replicate ministries or have followed Lifeway Students for any length of time, you know that we love all of the Foundations products that Robby and Kandi Gallaty have provided for adults, teens, and kids! That is why we knew that it would be perfect for Kandi to help us form something super special just for teen girls!

Foundations: New Testament for Teen Girls ($14.99) is a 260-day Bible reading plan that will guide your girls through the entire New Testament in one year—just a chapter a day, five days a week. Using the HEAR journaling method, she’ll discover how to read the Bible in a way that can change her life. Instead of just checking off boxes on her daily reading schedule, she’ll find encouragement each day as she begins to better understand and respond to God’s Word.

Beyond just the beautiful design for teen girls, there are so many fun elements that are included to help engage your girls in their reading and Scripture memory—like social share squares and cell phone wallpapers, as well as daily activities to help them to apply what they’re learning.

To celebrate this new resource, we wanted you to get to know Kandi and hear her heart behind it! Check out these questions we asked Kandi:

Gallaty-32-2-1

1. Tell us a little about yourself! What’s your family like? What are your favorite things to do?

My name is actually Kandice, but I have always gone by Kandi. I am 41 years old and still wish I were in my 30s. I am married to my husband Robby, and we have been married and in ministry for 16 years now. He is my best friend and I cherish our relationship. We have two boys, Rig and Ryder, who are 12 and 10. They are all boy all the time which means there is never a dull moment or a quiet moment in our house! I love faith, fitness and fashion! Serving the Lord in ministry is the highlight of my life! I can’t imagine doing anything different in this world. I love His Word, read it daily and encourage others to do the same. Fitness and working out is another love of my life. Spin class is my favorite thing! I spin around four times a week and truly enjoy it. Since middle school I have been a fashionista! I love everything girlie: clothes, bags, makeup, and a good pair of earrings is a must! I also love to cook, bake, give gifts, and travel. Traveling with Robby is always a favorite because of the time we get to spend together and making memories.

2. What are you most excited about how teen girls will use this new Foundations resource?

What excites me the most about how teen girls will use this new resource is that they will be in the Word for themselves. Nothing excites me more than for a young lady to begin a daily time with the Lord from a young age. If she begins this habit now, she will have it through life. This very essential spiritual discipline will be most life giving, nourishing and sustaining for a young woman as she matures through life.

3. How has the HEAR reading method transformed your own time with the Lord?

The HEAR journaling method brings a person from being a hearer only to a doer of the Word as James 1:22 tells us. Reading can become a checklist that you just want to check off every day. However, if you slow down and write down something, you will process it in more. You will also apply it to your life more. This method pulls out the application for your life today. That is the whole point. You don’t just want to read information but experience transformation. Transformation happens through the application of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit each and every day. When I journal on a certain verse, I apply it to my life and meditate on it throughout the day. Sometimes I will still be learning later in the day about what I read that morning. It causes me to live differently and to think differently.

4. What is your favorite verse that you have memorized and why?

My all-time favorite verse in Scripture is Proverbs 4:23 which says, “Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life” (CSB). The Lord really used this verse in my life when I first became a believer. I realized that my heart was the problem all along. I didn’t guard it and I made poor choices that I couldn’t take back. I memorized this verse and still live by it to this day. I guard my heart daily through reading the Word and prayer.

5. Do you have any encouragement for leaders starting a discipleship group for the first time?

My encouragement to a leader starting a group for the first time would be don’t over think it. Discipling others is a result of the lifestyle you live. It is an overflow of what is happening in your life already. If you live as a disciple yourself, discipling others will be the overflow. Lead yourself well and you will lead others well.

We hope hearing from Kandi got you fired up about this devotional for teen girls! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
