We’re so thrilled that Angie Smith’s first Bible study for girls is now available. If you’re thinking about a summer study, you definitely want to check it out.
What is Seamless?
Seamless is a seven-session study for middle and high school girls that covers major events from the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of Scripture. The goal is to lead girls to a complete understanding of God’s story as seen from Genesis to Revelation. Each session will feature people, places, and promises including maps, general Bible facts, word studies, and key information that ties all of Scripture together into the seamless truth of the gospel message.
What is the study like?
When you look through the material, you’ll notice three sections at the beginning of each session: Review, Watch, and Discuss.
The Review section has five days worth of questions that summarize the homework the girls will do between sessions. We suggest you start each session reviewing those questions.
The next section is called Watch. During this time, your group will watch the video provided on the DVD for that particular session. You’ll notice each session has space to write their thoughts during the video teaching time.
The last section is called Discuss. You can use these questions to lead your girls in a discussion related to the things Angie taught in that session’s video.
The pages that follow contain five days worth of homework the girls can do between each session.
What do I need to lead a Bible study?
In order to lead a Bible study, you’ll need a Student Leader Kit ($59.99) for your group and one Student Book ($11.99) for each girl.
The Student Leader Kit includes a DVD that contains one video per session. The Leader Kit also contains one Student Book – as the leader, you’ll want to keep this book. There are tips for leading a group in the back.
Have a question? Drop it in the comment section below and we’ll be happy to answer it for you!
I am looking for an online Bible study to direct some of our teen girls toward. Is this in such a format?
Hey Kelly! This is not an online study for girls- someone would need to lead them through it.
Are the videos the same for both the adult and teen study? I know that the bible study books are different.
Hey Lauren!
The videos are very similar. If you’re wanting the girls to study alongside the women, it would be okay to use the same videos.
Thanks so much! I’m leading a student group and trying to decide if I should also purchase the adult book to do as well.
How many chapters are there in this study? How many weeks required, is what I am asking. What is different about the video segments for the teen versus the ladies’ study? Sounds like it may make sense to just use the ladies’ DVD set we own to do this study with our teen girls.
Thank you for your input on this!
Allison, there are seven sessions in this study. There are a few introductions and statements in the women’s videos that are different from the girls’ study. If you already have the women’s study videos, you could use them for the girls, as well.
I am interested in leading a teenage through older women bible study group using Seamless. Will the teen addition and videos be engaging enough for the older women too? Should I show the teen videos, but have the women just use the regular study book? What do you recommend. My goal is to get the older women to mentor the younger, as well as the teens and younger women to see that the older women have so much to offer us. I appreciate your advice. I will only be able to show one video, so need to choose which way to go.
Hey Debbie! I would recommend purchasing the Women’s Leader Kit, Women’s Bible Study Books for your older ladies, and the Student Books for your girls. The videos in both kits are very similar, but the content in the student books is tailored for more of a younger audience.
It sounds like you have a wonderful plan for developing relationships in your group. Let us know if there’s anything we can do for you!
hello! i am leading a girls bible study for middle school girls. i already purchased what i believe is the adult version (in white cover) because it has more questions. would it be ok to lead the girls based off of the “adult” book instead of the teen book? i like the questions and things but want to make sure it relates to the girls
Sorry for the late reply, Molly! I’m not sure the women’s version would be the best fit for middle school girls. If you’re wanting to take them deeper, perhaps pull some of the questions you liked from the women’s study to enhance the girls’ lesson. Let us know what you end up doing! Would love to hear how it goes.
I am currently studying the women’s Seamless study with our church.
I thought about going through the teen version with my daughters at the same time. Are the teen videos available for individual download like the adult videos are?
Hey Lynn — they are not, but the student videos are VERY similar. You could use the adult to walk through the study with the girls 🙂
I would like to use this study for a single ladies SS class that will also have Teen Mothers in it. Would the adult version be appropriate for the Teen Mom’s or should they use Girls version. I’m concerned that the Girls version may be a little young for their new journey in life, but not sure if the adult version will be too much for them.
I think either version would work for them! I would recommend downloading the sample of each online at lifeway.com/seamless and seeing which one “reads” as more appropriate.
How much time do you think should be allowed for the group meetings for Review: Watch: Discuss? Is a hour adequate enough time?
On average how long are the videos?
The videos are 15-20 minutes, on average. I would recommend allowing an hour to an hour and a half, depending on your group 🙂
I am currently going through this study with a women’s group and loving it (thank you Angie!) and am considering having a summer study for middle school girls in my home (my daughter will be 11 in June-going into 6th grade). She will become part of our church youth group in the fall and I wanted to do something for her and her peers to help with this transition by having them (the other rising 6th graders) and a few of the current rising 7/8th graders meet together over the summer.
I am debating between this study vs More Than Pretty for them. Is there a video series with the More than Pretty study? Is there somewhere I can see an excerpt of it like you can with Seamless? Or do you have another recommendation all together that would better serve the purpose of what I would like to do? I would like one with a video component.
Although the other women and I are getting so much out of the Seamless study…I don’t want to start with anything too difficult that they do not look forward to coming. The Word of God is amazing and I want them to see that, but also know that a study that seems more “applicable” TO THEM may capture their interest more. (beauty, appearance, etc..)
Thank you!
Hey Katie! Sorry for the slow reply – There are videos with More Than Pretty! You should be able to download a sample online at lifeway.com/morethanpretty.
Any of our studies would be great for what you’d like to do with the girls, just a matter of content preference! Seamless lays a good foundation for those rising 6th graders, but you’re right about the other topic drawing them in. I think they’ll be excited to be included, either way!
Feel free to email me if I can help in any way!

I did this study in a women’s group last fall and loved it so much, I want to do the teen girl study with my Jr high/high school youth group this summer. We do have boys and girls. Would this teen girl study be too directed towards girls for the boys to do it too?
I think the content is great for boys, but the study materials themselves are very girly! I would recommend The Gospel Project for Students if you’re looking for something similar for a mixed group.
How girlish is this? I’m looking for something that could be used as a whole youth group and want to use this because I like the concept.
Ashley,
That’s a great question. This study is definitely geared toward teenage girls, but if you’re wanting to use it in a coed context, here is what we recommend: http://www.lifeway.com/Product/foundations-teen-devotional-P005791600 . Foundations is not a short-term study on the whole Bible, but this interactive devotional will lead students chronologically through the entire Bible in a year and will highlight main themes, characters, etc.
Hello, a few of my friends are looking to start a group with our youth leader. A few of us girls just graduated high school, while the last one is starting her senior year in high school. Which book would you recommend, but we are all on different levels when it comes to the Bible.
Thanks!
Hey Sami! Here are a few ideas – 100 Days: The Glory Experiment by Angela Sanders, All in All by Sophie Hudson, and Foundations for Students by Robby and Kandi Gallaty. Hope that helps!
Hi! Is the book that comes in the Seamless leader kit identical to the Seamless Girls student book?
Hey Megan! Yes- they are the same.
Hey! Are the teen videos available in a downloadable format or is it just DVD? If the women one is the only one available for download, will it be okay for 7-12th girls?
Thanks!
Hi Stephanie! The teen videos are currently only available through the Leader Kit (DVD). We hope to have digital options soon! But, for right now, you can definitely use the women’s videos. We do slightly edit them, so it would be good for you to review them on your own ahead of time to see if any content would be unsuitable for your group of girls. Please feel free to email me if you have any additional questions at girls.ministry@lifeway.com!
Thanks, Amanda (LifeWay Girls Brand Specialist)
Hi I’m trying to do a mom and daughter Bible study using the Seamless teen guide. I ordered the leadership kit thinking it would have a leadership book but it’s the exact same as the student book. I was hoping it would have more leadership guidance. Is there another book that is specific to the leader that I should order?
Hey, Alicia! You are going to love this study. Yes, the leader book is the same book as the students. But if you turn to page 168 you will discover the leader guide that should help you know how to lead it. If you need additional help, please don’t hesitate to reach out me personally at girls.ministry@lifeway.com —Amanda Mejias, LifeWay Girls Brand Specialist
